Preparation

This motorcycle trip has been such a journey already.  From the motorcycle show that affirmed Dad’s desire to travel on a Honda Goldwing, to buying his armour, helmet and boots, it’s already been quite a ride.

I bought my first motorcycle (Kawasaki Versys 650), got my license and started riding all within 3.5 months.  I’ve practiced travelling for long days, did an emergency oil change in a parking lot, added accessories to my bike and adjusted my own chain (which may have led to having to replace my chain and sprockets, I’m not sure), ridden 4000 km in 3 months to build my competence and purchased soooo much gear.  It may be my newest obsession.  All along the way, my hubby Gus has enabled, encouraged and facilitated my development.

Now my bike has been loaded onto a truck and is on its way to Edmonton.  David has coordinated Dad’s purchase of a new Goldwing from the Honda dealer in Edmonton where my bike is being  shipped.  Assuming all the stars align, that same dealer will fix my chain problem and both motorcycles will be ready and waiting for us on August 2nd when we get there.

The journey continues – this is the best part!
